Guys, I can't help it, we're going back to Mt. Rigi again 😂
It is just too pretty up there! 😍
As you can already see here, it's about to be a sunset photo! And guess what... Tomorrow I will show a picture from the exact same place, just a few minutes later as well as a bit more zoomed in. I promise, it will look like a different photo taken somewhere else.

If we’re talking about weather in Colorado, we all know anything can happen. Except, our extended forecast doesn’t look to be in our favor. That’s fine. If January is anything like it was last season...we’ll soon forget about December. #Japanuary#waitingforwinter ⛷ @etmccue
Himalaya 2017 Expedition. This is photo 6 of 7 I'll be posting daily this next week that re-traces the contours of my 4 weeks in the Makalu-Barun valley in Nepal with @thealpinelife and @coopbarrett.
With the higher peaks thoroughly shrouded in deep, unconsolidated winter snow, we shifted our attention on our final days of the expedition to establishing trad and sport climbing routes on a crag above base-camp. .
Each of us worked hard on cleaning, equipping, and finally climbing various routes. After putting in the labor on a route, we even had Dawa Sherpa, our expedition cook to establish a first ascent, naming the route, "Dawa's Delight" after all the amazing food he prepared for us throughout the expedition.
In these photos, I'm finishing up the last moves on a powerful and aesthetic route that Zach established, called "Send it, Caleb." This route was an homage to a dear friend of Zach's who had recently passed away in a tragic accident in the Andes. The mountain life we live is complex, and along with all the joys, can be shrouded in sadness, grief, and loss. This year had been a challenging one for all of us, and during several moments on the expedition, we bid a deep bow to those people that are no longer with us. Here's to taking a moment to tell the people we care about how much we love them. Unabashedly.
Other photos show Coop on some delicate stemming moves on a trad route he established that required significant cleaning, but unveiled an excellent pitch.
Make sure to give @thealpinelife and @coopbarrett a follow as we re-count stories and images from a fun and inspiring expedition in the mountains. Photos by Zach Lovell.
More than 20 days I found myself in this quite interesting route over the past years and have no idea if I would make it over this first boulder just above the lower belay. This was quite a logistic challenge not to fall past it while soloing. But I got it dailed, enjoyed the Flow all the way up and I'm very happy this one is done.
